The Department of Psychology, College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Miami is seeking a full-time Clinical faculty member who will serve as Director for our in-house Psychological Services Center (PSC). This non-tenure track appointment will be made at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor rank, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. This position is a 12-month, multi-year renewable contract with the opportunity for advancement in rank. The PSC serves as the primary in-house practicum site for the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program, which has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1966. The clinical program is also a founding member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science. It has three major areas of study (adult clinical, child/family clinical, and health clinical) and was ranked #18 (of 231) clinical programs in the US in 2020.
The Director is a fully participating member of the clinical Ph.D. program and provides the vision and strategic leadership for the PSC. We seek a Director who is energized by strengthening collaborations with other providers in the University and local communities as well as the potential of offering new specialty services. We also seek a Director who is motivated to engage with the issues and concerns of the diverse Miami community including, but not limited to, diversity in race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Ongoing responsibilities for the position include coordination of clinical services, staff supervision, budget administration, and teaching and supervising graduate students in evidence-based assessment and/or treatment approaches.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from a clinical science or scientist-practitioner model program, clinical administrative experience, and be licensed or license-eligible in Florida, by the appointment start date. A strong interest in the integration of science and practice as well as clinical expertise and experience with both children and adults are highly desirable.
