Clemson University's Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (PRTM) (https://www.clemson.edu/cbshs/departments/prtm/) in the College of BSHS (https://www.clemson.edu/cbshs/) seeks applicants for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus on Non-Profit Leadership (NPL) related to Parks, Recreation, Tourism, or Youth Development. This position starts August 2022 and is located on the campus of Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. A selected Associate Professor candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high level of research success and ability to maintain a rigorous, nationally recognized and funded research program related to non-profit and governmental organizations, leadership, and organizational science in sports and community recreation, parks and conservation, human health and well-being, youth development, tourism, or related areas of inquiry. A selected Assistant Professor candidate will be expected to demonstrate an emerging funded research program in the areas described above.

Currently the NPL program (https://www.clemson.edu/cbshs/departments/prtm/academics/minors-certificates-programs/non-profit-leadership-minor/index.html) at Clemson University serves 1,253 students. We seek a faculty member who will continue the program's excellence in teaching and lead the program through further growth and development in scholarship. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty across the PRTM department, College, and University; conduct relevant research, contribute to the undergraduate NPL minor curriculum, develop and teach graduate level NPL courses, advise and mentor graduate students through theses and dissertations, engage in departmental, college, and University service, and carry out other departmental duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A doctoral degree in PRTM, non-profit leadership, natural resource management, public administration, public affairs, business or organizational management, human services, or a related field.
  • Research related to non-profit and governmental organizations, leadership and organizational science in recreation, parks and conservation, human health and well-being, youth development, sports and community recreation, or related areas of inquiry.
  • A strong record of scholarly activity, publications, and externally funded-grants and/or a demonstrated potential to develop a highly successful research program.
  • Experience or demonstrated potential to successfully teach online.
  • Experience conducting social science research.
  • Experience or demonstrated potential to teach, advise, and mentor graduate students.
  • Experience working in or with nonprofit or governmental organizations preferred.
  • Experience serving diverse audiences and awareness of student engagement through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.
