Post-Doctoral Research Assoicte- Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology 

Description:

The Office of Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee (UT) seeks applications for a Post -Doctoral Researcher.  This position will perform modeling and simulation of biological macromolecular systems in the Center for Molecular Biophysics at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This will involve calculating forces and interactions between atoms in the systems as well as molecular dynamics and related modeling and simulation algorithms to understand fundamental behavior. The systems upon which you will work will be of mutual interest to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

    Perform modeling and simulation of biological macromolecular systemsCalculating forces and interactions between atomsSimulating algorithms to understand fundamental behavior
 

 



Qualifications
Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • PhD required
  • Extensive experience in atomistic molecular biophysics of proteins
Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent working knowledge of molecular biophysics
  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and concepts of computer science
  • Analytical skills necessary to collect information from diverse sources, perform analyses, summarize, and present the information to communicate data, trends, and solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
