Job Summary

Provide promotional, administrative, performance assessment, and financial/accounting services in support of assigned program(s) within a research center, academic unit, or other campus units of a school. These functions may encompass a variety of activities related to program success including coordination of program marketing, program administration, program operations, and program development. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: research, academic and administrative management and staff with a school or center and across campus, vendors and sponsors. Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Design/develop promotional and marketing materials to include those developed for specific target audiences in support of program outreach efforts.


Job Duty 2 -
Plan, schedule and coordinate promotional events.


Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate administrative activities associated with program operations such as procurement, records maintenance, compliance, meeting arrangements and minutes, and document preparation.


Job Duty 4 -
Develop, analyze, reconcile and report financial data related to program operations.


Job Duty 5 -
Develop and maintain performance assessment tools applied in program review to measure and report progress.


Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate with internal and external entities to aid institutional or program support.


Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

Proposed Salary

$50,000-$60,000

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of research program promotion and administration. Included are skills in development and administering program assessment tools, marketing, and financial analysis and reporting. Also required are skills in planning, organization, spoken and written communications, scheduling and customer service. Use of office and specialized computer applications and databases are required.

Other Information

The mission of the Center for Policy Advancement and Engagement (CAPE) is to provide a dynamic infrastructure for training and outreach in public policy. As part of the mission to advance policy, the Center will focus on training activities, including professional training, executive leadership, internship opportunities, and policy maker-spaces. Resources for the Center will be generated through the seminars which will be used to fund students, bring in guest lecturers, and provide other enrichment activities that benefit the School of Public Policy (SPP) and the wider Georgia Tech community. The Center will have a faculty Director appointed by the Chair of the School of Public Policy, to serve three-year renewable terms. An Advisory Board will be named to provide guidance and connections with the broader community.

The program manager will be responsible for developing and coordinating the implementation of programs designed to promote the School of Public Policy to target audiences of potential and enrolled students and other groups, thereby encouraging their enrollment and retention. These programs will be largely outside the traditional course offerings of SPP, focused on new initiatives with external communities. Efforts include program needs assessment, concept definition, program development, marketing, and evaluation. This position will interact on a consistent basis with target group prospects and students, campus and program administrators, Georgia Tech faculty and staff, and alumni.

The essential functions of this position are:

  • Analyze outreach objectives and assess needs in the way of program components and resources;
  • Define specific program objectives and develop implementation plans;
  • Coordinate program implementation including directing stages required to meet program objectives;
  • Develop communications and marketing materials that support program objectives;
  • Plan, schedule and manage program promotional events;
  • Assess, evaluate, and report on program results relative to expectations;
  • Administer program budgets and maintain supply of program materials;
  • Serve as the primary contact person for the new Center for Advanced Policy and Engagement.

The program manager will facilitate the development of programming within the School and connect the activities and expertise of the School with the wider Georgia Tech community.
