This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service.
The Colgate University Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for a part-time position working with the field hockey team.
The assistant field hockey coach is responsible for assisting the head field hockey coach in all aspects of running an NCAA Division I field hockey program by recruiting academically qualified prospective students-athletes, developing and implementing training sessions, practices and game plans, educating and coaching student-athletes, and supporting student-athletes in their personal, academic and athletic development at Colgate. An emphasis on film reviewing and breakdown skills, experience with spiideo clipping and editing game footage preferred. The assistant coach must perform duties in compliance with all College, Patriot League, and NCAA rules and regulations. This part-time position reports directly to the head field hockey and is responsible for assisting in all phases of the program.
Professional Experience/ Qualifications:- Assist head coach with team travel and game scheduling.
- Assist head coach in player development.
- Assist head coach with recruiting.
- Assist head coach with practice and planning calendars for team.
- Assist student athletes with time management and course schedules.
- Other items assigned by the head coach.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Other Information:A current valid driver’s license, in accordance with the University’s Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy, is required.
