Waubonsee Community College promotes diversity in faculty, staff, and student recruitment and is committed to hiring and retaining exceptional faculty and staff who are committed to the college’s culture of collaboration, professional growth and student success.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. SI sessions are regularly scheduled, out-of-class review sessions for all students enrolled in a targeted course. The sessions are informal seminars in which students review notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and prepare for examinations. Students learn how to integrate course content with reasoning and study skills. SI Leaders are student leaders responsible for facilitating a minimum of two hours of peer assisted SI study sessions per week in their assigned academic subject. SI Leaders attend all lectures for their assigned class, take notes, work through all homework assignments as well as plan and facilitate interactive SI sessions to help students better understand concepts or applications of course material.
