Responsibilities

Independently manage and complete various data collection and entry projects. Request and collect various reports and data from precollege SSTRIDE coordinators and teachers in Sarasota, Collier, Orange, and Okaloosa counties. Examples of reports include the coordinator school visit monthly report, student report cards, mentor information, college application information from seniors, SSTRIDE activity reports from coordinators, etc.

Track all IMS program alumni (i.e., pre-college SSTRIDE, Summer Institute, USSTRIDE, SSTRIDE Connect, HMS, IMS, and Bridge programs) for outcome data via emails, phone calls, social media, or other sources and record outcome data in database. Collect report cards for pre-college SSTRIDE students and calculate student GPAs by subject areas; double check calculation results and enter the results into databases. Request applications from pre-college SSTRIDE, Summer Institute, HMS, and USSTRIDE coordinators, and enter the information into Excel and online databases.

Utilize FSU Advisor Central or BI system and check the demographic, major and graduation information of pre-college SSTRIDE, Summer Institute, USSTRIDE, HMS, IMS, SSTRIDE Connect and Bridge participants. Assist with compiling program evaluation reports for internal use, grant application/renewal, or for submission to FSU COM administration and FSU Provost's office. Assist with data analysis projects. Train OPS or work-study students on new or recurring projects.

Independently manage and complete various survey projects. Coordinate with pre-college SSTRIDE coordinators and teachers and administer surveys to students. Travel to SSTRIDE schools in various counties if necessary, to administer the survey in hard copies. Enter various survey data into databases if administered through hard copies, such as the advising survey, the pre-college SSTRIDE student survey, and the Summer Institute student survey, etc.

Assist with various events for the IMS Division if needed, such as the teacher training, alumni celebrations, Summer Institute orientations, etc. Promote an atmosphere of teamwork in accomplishing the mission and goals of the COM to include participating in the delivery of services for special projects or in meeting key deadlines.

Format survey reports in Word documents. Clean up typos, and grammar mistakes in survey responses if necessary. Search published studies for research projects. Conduct literature review and summarize research findings. Maintain research database. Proofread research manuscripts. Review above-mentioned data (e.g., survey data, participant data, GPA data etc.) for accuracy and completeness. Update project logs to keep track of project progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

    Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Experience documenting existing and new processes. Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Experience performing accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously. Experience compiling, reviewing, and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Ability to utilize problem solving skills. Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, correspondences, and other written materials. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, or equivalent software.Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License, or ability to obtain prior to hire.
Preferred
    Skill in preparing clear and concise policies and procedures.Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology. Knowledge of research methodology, principles, and practices in area of work. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of data collection.

Soft Money Funded Position

This is a partially soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
