Description
The Program Coordinator in the Office of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the process of identifying, recruiting and enrolling faculty, staff and trainees for all academic programs affiliated with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and Temple University Health System (LKSOM/TUHS). The Program Coordinator represents LKSOM/TUHS at conferences, open houses, campus tours, school visits and other recruitment events and will assist in the coordination of these activities as needed.

Responsibilities include: maintaining a professional knowledge in applicable areas by researching recruitment strategies and new trends in the profession as well as participating in professional organizations, workshops and training sessions; assuming primary responsibility for the development of marketing materials, development and publishing of monthly newsletter and other print media as well as the management of department website and social media; developing and implementing yearly calendar of events and activities aimed at increasing recruitment of URiM students, residents, faculty and staff; coordinating, facilitating, and providing organizational support as needed for various activities, programs, and events; maintaining accurate data entry of all recruitment activities in order to provide accurate recruitment statistical reports; assisting with the construction of data models, reports, and dashboards responsible for data tracking and analysis.

The Program Coordinator also develops and maintains systems that serve to sustain contact with prospective students and targeted institutions with respective applicants and groups; tracks and reports on diversity recruitment metrics, initiatives and activities; tracks and reports data related to URiM metrics at admission, during training and through graduation; tracks and reports LKSOM URiM alumni contact information including residency placement and place of employment.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience working in a University setting with experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Demonstrated interpersonal skills and advanced understanding, appreciation, awareness, and knowledge of multicultural issues in higher education, as well as sensitivity and commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion with the ability to collaborate and interact with multiple constituencies of diverse identities and backgrounds.
*Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of student recruitment and admissions.
*Ability to build relationships and network with both campus & local community partners.
*Demonstrated experience interacting with and establishing interpersonal connections with culturally diverse populations.
*Outstanding public relations and customer service skills with the ability to promote recruiting events through a variety of social media outlets.
*Ability to evaluate effectiveness of current recruitment efforts against targets and benchmarks and recommend alternatives as needed
*Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
*Strong presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective public presentations.
*Ability to evaluate effectiveness of current recruitment efforts against targets and benchmarks and recommend alternatives as needed.
*Tracking budgets and recruitment/marketing expenditures as needed.
*Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
*Must be team-oriented; capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion

Preferred: Master’s Degree along with experience working in a University Medical School environment and collaborating with diverse students, faculty, staff and community partners
