Your opportunity:

Working within the Institute for Management & Innovation (IMI) and reporting to the senior administrative team, you will have the opportunity to foster the implementation and growth of the MBiotech work term placement program. IMI is the centre for professional management education at U of T Mississauga and has a strong administrative team that supports our six professional graduate programs and our undergraduate programs in management.

The MBiotech program is now growing to include a digital health technology (DHT) stream and requires significant business development to ensure the ongoing success of the program, the students and our numerous industry partners. You will be working closely with the MBiotech team and the IMI placement team to develop new industry partnerships and to nurture and enhance the existing relationships for our internship program and continued employment opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing plans and process improvements for employer engagement activities
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Promoting programming, student needs and interests to employers and industry contacts
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
  • Keeping well-informed on best practices for developing student placement and work-integrated learning opportunities
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
  • Providing orientation to new employees and/or students

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalentexperience.
  • Minimum three years of related experience
  • Excellent computer skills in PC and Mac, including in-depth knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, Power Point and a web content management system
  • Strong knowledge of work integrated learning within higher education


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Knowledge of customer relationship management tool (CRM)-ORBIS
