Position SummaryThe Admissions Specialist is responsible for the marketing, advising, and admitting efforts for two high school programs- Gateway to College and YES to College Programs. Services may include enrollment services, new student recruitment, community outreach, public information, marketing, use of social media, web design/maintenance, and program specific promotional events.

- Experience assessing students’/clients’ needs and connecting them with appropriate educational options.
- Experience monitoring and tracking program applicants/clients.
- Experience supporting students in program planning and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field, student services, or other related field (experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment or program related environment.

Experience in customer oriented or student centered experience advising preferably in an academic environment.

Experience in public speaking, educational marketing and recruitment.

Strong organizational skills with experience in program coordination and/or office management.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

*Please note: Temporary Academic Professional employees are not eligible for Personal Leave Days, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, or AD&D Insurance.

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)

  • Starts at 13.33 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of services)
  • 1 day of sick leave per month
  • 11 holidays
  • 3 additional personal leave days per year

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed in an office environment with a high level of public contact, both over the phone and in person. During peak registration periods incumbents will typically work extended hours, including some weekends. This position requires travel within the community and PCC campuses using a personal vehicle.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional lifting of large quantities of recruiting materials and display equipment that may weigh 30-50 pounds required. During peak recruiting seasons requires long hours of standing on cement or gym floors.
