Job Description Summary:
The voice instructor will teach a small studio of Applied voice students through weekly individual one-hour lessons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach a total of 14 hours of individualized instruction per student each semester
  • Work with student to schedule agreed upon meeting times
  • Be accessible to students
  • Report progress of students to Director of Choral Activities
  • Provide timely feedback to students' questions and concerns
  • Become familiar with rules, regulations, administrative practices, guidelines and policies of the Department and College
  • Prepare students for end of semester juries and/or recitals
  • The duties listed in this job description are not all-inclusive, but a list of the major responsibilities. Additional duties not noted in the job description may be assigned by a supervisor.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance or related field


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in subject
  • Teaching experience in college level voice instruction


Other Information:
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.
