The Board of Trustees of Hartwick College invites nominations and applications for its 11th President. The Board seeks a strategic, collaborative leader to build on Hartwick's 225-year legacy of innovation and academic excellence and join a student-centered community dedicated to advancing the institution for future success. The new president is expected to assume office in Summer 2022.

Hartwick College is a private, residential, liberal arts and science college serving 1,200 undergraduate students. It is located on 425 picturesque acres in the foothills of the Catskills Mountains in Oneonta, New York, and offers 35 courses of study in the full range of liberal arts and science disciplines, pre-professional programs, cooperative programs that lead to graduate degrees, and several options for certification. Hartwick delivers a comprehensive and transformative educational experience with an emphasis on experiential learning that includes personalized teaching, collaborative research, a distinctive January Term, internships, independent and faculty-led study-abroad, and active mentoring and support.

The next president of Hartwick College has an exciting opportunity to capitalize on a highly collaborative multi-year planning effort that resulted in an innovative and holistic new program – FlightPath – that transforms the way Hartwick delivers education and a full college experience. The College is seeking a President who will nurture and build upon FlightPath; grow the annual fund and endowment and raise funds for other institutional priorities; foster the conditions for a strong campus community; build a sustainable financial model; understand the demographic challenges facing higher ed and devise effective strategies to successfully meet them; embrace and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; support and advocate for a vibrant campus life; and demonstrate a commitment to student success and well-being. Campus and Location
Hartwick's beautiful 425-acre campus is located in Oneonta, NY, in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains. The campus literally is built into the side of Oyaron Hill and has a breathtaking view of the Susquehanna River Valley. Our Pine Lake Environmental Campus is eight miles from the main campus. Oneonta has been ranked as a top ten college town in the nation.

Academics
There's lots of food for thought:  Hartwick's top five majors are nursing, business administration, psychology, biology, and criminal justice, and there's so much more to explore. You have access to 45 courses of study, four pre-professional programs, six cooperative programs, and certifications. Study Abroad and Off-Campus Study
Hartwick students travel everywhere, from Italy to India, for January Term, semester-long, or year-long programs. Approximately 60% of Hartwick students study abroad during their undergraduate years, making Hartwick 2nd in the nation among baccalaureate colleges for the percentage of students who study abroad. Athletics
Hartwick sponsors 18 intercollegiate teams, 8 for men and 10 for women. Hartwick sports compete at the NCAA Division III level. Many of Hartwick's Division III teams participate in the Empire 8 conference. Accreditation
Hartwick College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education MSCHE or "Middle States"), and the NY State Board of Regents.
