General Information: The School of Science, Technology, Accessibility, Mathematics and Public Health (STAMP) invites applications for pre-tenure or tenure-track faculty positions in the area of mathematics starting August, 2022. Candidates must be committed to innovative teaching of undergraduate majors-level and service courses for a liberal arts curriculum in a predominantly visual environment. Candidates must demonstrate potential for competency in teaching, scholarship/research and service. Fluency in American Sign Language at time of appointment is highly desirable, but not required. Applicants who are not fluent must be willing to learn. Rank and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position is contingent on funding.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach PH courses on multiple topics, including, but not limited to, the following: foundations of public health, epidemiology, healthcare systems and policy, behavioral health, environmental health.
  2. Teach undergraduate courses with PH themes for the interdisciplinary general studies (GSR) program.
  3. Either engage in scholarship, mentorship or research in the PH field, including grant-funded research or participate in school and university faculty activities and professional service. Non-tenure track faculty are expected to teach four courses and do scholarship or service, but not both.
  4. Advise and mentor students in the PH major.
  5. Participate in data collection for program-level assessment and the CEPH accreditation application process.
Requirements:

1. A MPH and a few years of work experience.

2. A record of or potential for outstanding teaching, scholarship, or commitment to service.

3. Fluency in American Sign Language is highly desirable. Applicants who are not fluent must be willing to learn and attend training during the summer.

4. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Rank and Salary: Rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
