Where We Are and What We Need to Deliver

In 2021 CU Denver embarked on a purpose-driven journey to set a bold course for the university's next 10 years. An inclusive, six-month process brought together 3,000 participants to generate 7,000 ideas, leading to five ambitious goals. The resulting 2030 strategic plan is a profound repositioning of CU Denver to be a public urban research university that works for all: learners of all kinds and at all stages of life, industries and employers that need talent ready to hit the ground running, and communities requiring new solutions and discoveries.

Our next objective as the strategic plan implementation team is to coordinate the execution and delivery of the highest ambitions laid out by our community. Among others, projects currently under management by the team include the development a comprehensive strategy for online/hybrid education at CU Denver; the identification of “grand challenges” to bolster an internationally-recognized research enterprise; and the construction of a new engineering, design, and computing building. Success of the team will require a keen attention to organizational dynamics and change as well as a relentless commitment to innovation and achieving the 2030 vision.
