The Strategic Plan Implementation Business Analyst will work on a tight-knit team to implement and actualize an ambitious 2030 vision for the University of Colorado Denver
. This role reports to the Director of Strategic Plan Implementation and will work closely with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration and Strategy and stakeholders across the institution. This is a two-year position with the potential for contract extension.Where We Are and What We Need to Deliver

An inclusive, six-month process brought together 3,000 participants to generate 7,000 ideas, leading to five ambitious goals. The resulting 2030 strategic plan is a profound repositioning of CU Denver to be a public urban research university that works for all: learners of all kinds and at all stages of life, industries and employers that need talent ready to hit the ground running, and communities requiring new solutions and discoveries.Our next objective as the strategic plan implementation team is to coordinate the execution and delivery of the highest ambitions laid out by our community. Among others, projects currently under management by the team include the development a comprehensive strategy for online/hybrid education at CU Denver; the identification of “grand challenges” to bolster an internationally-recognized research enterprise; and the construction of a new engineering, design, and computing building. Success of the team will require a keen attention to organizational dynamics and change as well as a relentless commitment to innovation and achieving the 2030 vision.How You’ll Contribute
The Business Analyst will play a key role in bringing the 2030 strategic plan to life, serving as a technical and strategic thought partner with team members and leaders across the university. Leveraging excellent critical thinking skills, keen political sensibilities, and a thorough understanding of the university’s political landscape, the person in this position will be asked to partner with senior leaders on the development of strategies and projects that advance CU Denver’s 2030 ambitions. Additionally, this role will collaborate with team members to assess progress toward our projects, as well as report on that progress to the cabinet and broader community. To that end, this position will maintain the team’s reporting infrastructure and drive efforts to continually develop best-in-class reporting mechanisms for the university’s 2030 strategic plan. What We’ll Ask You to Do Strategy/Project Development
Assess the strategic ROI of potential new projects in partnership with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration and Strategy, Director of Strategic Plan Implementation, and Project Management LeadDefine needs, determine deliverables, and help develop corresponding project plans that advance the university’s strategic ambitions in partnership with the Director of Strategic Plan Implementation and Project Management Lead Contribute data and desktop analyses to inform such conversations, including assessments of industry best practices and trends Project Assessment
Working with cross-disciplinary units, assist with building a mechanism to assess the anticipated vs actual strategic ROI of projectsIn partnership with the project managers and project management lead, assess the ongoing success of projects against stated deliverables and plans In partnership with the project managers and project management lead, assess the impact of projects against the anticipated strategic ROI to continually improve the efficiency of our work and the return on investment in the strategic plan Executive and Community Reporting
Working with the project management lead and development lead, ensure accuracy and availability of strategic plan reporting, including KPIs and success metricsContinually improve the team’s infrastructure/mechanisms for reporting progress toward the strategic plan in partnership with the Director of Strategic Plan Implementation, project management lead, and partners across the university Supervision Received

) for this position has been established at $48,317 to $75,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range
