The Sociology Department at The University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Instructor to start Spring 2021. Primary responsibilities are to provide high-quality teaching and service to the Department. This position is renewable annually, potentially leading to an appointment as an Assistant Teaching Professor with appropriate qualifications.
Applicants must hold a MA in Sociology. The teaching load will be three courses per semester.
Responsibilities will consist of teaching large sections of Introduction to Sociology and offering courses in American Education and Black Experience in the U.S. The successful candidate will have experience working with undergraduate learning assistants and mentoring first generation college students. The successful candidate will also be involved in advising undergraduate students, service and outreach activities, and actively participating in continuing efforts to improve the department's educational mission.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Applicants must hold a MA in Sociology
- Experience and demonstrated excellence teaching at the undergraduate level is required
