The Department of English at Kennesaw State University is committed to excellent teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and the community. With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8000 degree-seeking students, the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest college at the university, prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. The home of three Schools and eight Departments, the College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields. RCHSS provides students experiential learning opportunities to enable them to develop leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as a strong sense of social responsibility through community and global engagement. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English Education faculty position in the Department of English to begin August 1, 2022.

Responsibilities
    Strong scholarship that can successfully compete for external funding along with a commitment to excellence in teaching and engagement is expected of all faculty members in the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU. The standard teaching load is 3/3. Faculty in the Department teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Teaching undergraduate courses in the English Education B.S. program Service to the department, college, university, and/or professional community A consistent schedule of scholarship/research activity and productivity

Required Qualifications
An earned Doctorate, or a foreign equivalent, in English Education or a closely related field is required. ABD will be considered; however, degree must be earned before start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have successful experience in secondary (6-12) school teaching, student teaching supervision, and instruction of English education methodology courses.

Ideal candidates will also have expertise in the following:
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racist teaching
  • Commitment to culturally and linguistically sustaining pedagogies
  • Interest and/or experience in grammar/language study and linguistics in secondary ELA settings
  • Interest and/or experience with the National Writing Project and school partnerships

The university has committed itself to expanding the global experience of students, faculty and staff through its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), known as the "Global Learning for Engaged Citizenship" initiative, which began in 2007.
