Responsibilities

• Oversees building maintenance and groundskeeping preventative maintenance program.
• Building maintenance consisting of suspended ceilings, carpentry, cabinet work, painting, drywall, A/C systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems including water and sewer lines.
• Operations of doors and windows; gas and electric welding and soldering.
• Perform preventive maintenance program for buildings and equipment including grounds, roadways and parking areas.
• Provides coverage for shipping and receiving for deliveries to campus.
• Record deliveries and check for accuracy and damage.
• Purchase material and small equipment used daily for routine maintenance of buildings and grounds.
• Assist with set ups for special functions on and off campus.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years in same.

(Note: Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may substitute for experience.)

• Ability to meet physical demands of this position to include lifting/moving, bending, stooping, and walking/standing for extended periods.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Skill in estimating the costs of materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of parts, equipment, maintenance and the mechanical operation of motor vehicles.
• Knowledge of processes, procedures, and methods used in facilities operations.
• Skill in safely operating various types of motorized vehicles including but not limited to dump trucks, tractors, forklifts, pallet trucks, front-end loaders, and golf-carts.
• Knowledge of the practices and the ability to perform skilled carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other related trades work.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair a variety of equipment and machinery used in area of work.

Schedule

Schedule will be 2:00pm-10:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch break.
