JOB SUMMARY:
Perform technical installation and maintenance of the College's computer and telecommunications network systems at all College sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will:
- Install, repair, maintain, and test computer hardware, network hardware, and related peripherals including: printers, scanners, and all in ones, and digital telephones. Configure and maintain conference and meeting room presentation equipment.
- Install district-wide software and hardware, both stand-alone and network, for instructional or administrative use.
- Provide consultation service, information, and support to end-users and departments over the phone, via email, and in person. Troubleshoot problems on computers, software, telephone equipment, and peripherals.
- Consult with vendors and outside hardware and software technical support as necessary. Assist in defining client infrastructure and associated component processes and improvement opportunities.
- Research and evaluate workstation computers, computer peripherals, materials, and software applications and recommends appropriate purchases and upgrades as required.
- Perform a variety of tasks in support of the Information Technology department as needed, including database updates, inventory control, and ordering and stocking supplies and parts. Create and revise efficient and effective documentation and procedures. Assist Network Administrator with network infrastructure as needed. Prepare a variety of reports and proposals as required.
- Modify Active Directory user accounts per existing procedures and at the direction of the Director of Computing Infrastructure. This activity addresses the resetting of passwords and locked out accounts.
- Install, repair, and modify network connections, both wired and wireless connections for staff, student labs, and dormitories
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job include, but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledge of the operation, installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of personal computer, computer peripherals.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures in performing various job tasks.
- Knowledge of the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of a variety of software applications including operating systems, Office Suite, etc.
- Knowledge of the operations of networks operating systems.
- Skill in communication; interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, faculty, staff, and vendors.
- Skill in the operation, installation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of personal computer, and telecommunications devices.
- Skill in technical writing and drawings.
- Skill in working independently to complete tasks.
- Skill in prioritizing work tasks and in completing them according to plan and to meet deadlines.
- Skill in working in an educational institution.
- Skill in working as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree - or - Multiple Associate Level Certifications -or- Demonstrated KSA
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years applicable experience
SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: Driving and travel throughout the district is required using CAC or own transportation is considered an essential function of the position.
Salary Range: $44,780.00 - $47,467.00 (Dependent upon qualifications)

Copies of transcripts should reflect completed course work and conferred degrees. All academic course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).
Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited course work by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation, will not be considered.
