Normal Work Schedule: Work days will vary including weekends

Job Summary: The Vehicle Operator II positively represents The University of Alabama by operating a car, van or commercial vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. Fills in for Transportation Dispatcher as needed.

Additional Department Summary: The Truck Driver will be responsible for driving the Hear Here Alabama truck to vaccination sites across West Central and South Alabama for the purpose of assisting vaccine administration. Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside of UA who can provide information, assistance and support to meet mutual goals and objectives. Perform job duties/responsibilities in a way consistent with UA’s values and principles. Sets an example by consistently modeling high standards of performance, honesty, inclusivity and truthfulness.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Must have a current Commercial Driver’s License.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A, B or C.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to drive a commercial truck. Active CDL.
