Position Summary:

New hires for this position will be eligible for a $750 sign-on bonus at the completion of 180 days of employment
Coordinates and manages incoming catering orders. Tracks and implements updates as requested. Communicates with and supports customers while upholding our policies and procedures outlined in Catertrax and on our web page. Communicates with Catering delivery and Catering Chef and food production team to keep expectations current.
Schedules, supervises and prepares staff for all catered events.

Flexibility with both schedule and duties is essential.
Specific Responsibilities – to be allocated between two positions by Catering Manager



Essential Functions:

Offer is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

• Become proficient in CaterTrax (our online ordering system).
• Uses 25 Live Pro (scheduling system) to support timely and accurate scheduling of deliveries and staffing
• Responsible for front-of-house presentation and supports drivers/stewards with accurate preparation for events
• Hires, schedules and trains front of house (wait, bar and bussing) staff as necessary with support of catering manager
• Maintains training and performance records for On-call staff and provides feedback and discipline as necessary.
• Maintains PCI and DLC compliance records for on call staff
• Maintains Middlebury College Driver’s License and participates in the maintenance and inspection of all catering vehicles

• Responsible for complete front-of-house operations at catered event to ensure that procedures are being followed and standards of sanitation, service and presentation are maintained.
• Communicates with Catering manager to finalize and implement event details and expectations in order to deliver high level food quality and service.
• Coordinates and manages timing of service and event flow with back of the house and guests
• Responsible for communicating changes to management and production staff
• Communicates with Catertrax support for program updates
• Submits and follows through on all liquor license requests
• Maintains accurate historical records for payment counts, usage, correspondence and other valuable data
• Supports catering team FOH and BOH and laundry and bakeshop with communication
• Promotes positive public relations and communication
• Orders supplies and equipment and follows up with repairs or maintenance as needed
• Provides productive feedback to inspire improvement and growth within the department.

Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.

Education:

Associate’s degree in food service or equivalent experience in food services or catering. Leadership experience is critical.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Computer and office equipment proficiency required.
Knowledge of MS Word, Office, Oracle HCM, Excel,web site management skills, Catertrax and 25 Live pro preferred.
Must gain and maintain VT DLC (Department of Liquor Control) certification, Middlebury College drivers license (van, gator and box truck), and PCI compliance.

Experience:

Collectively 3-5 years prior experience in food services or catering and administrative experience required

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift repeatedly 20 – 40 pounds, loading and unloading truck, pushing, pulling, lifting and climbing may be required. Full days of administrative and planning duties will be required
