Assistant Director of Development
Job Description:Portfolio Management
- Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects at the annual giving and mid-range levels.
- Focus on individual prospects and work with leadership, corporate and foundation prospects where gift/grant is assessed at lead annual gift and mid-range gift levels of ($2,000-$30,000)
- Build a portfolio of fundraising prospects and strategically manage relationships through face-to-face visits.
- Require extensive travel by automobile; maintaining an acceptable driving record that meets insurance requirements and an active Florida driver license must be maintained to meet this function.
Event Coordination
- Assist IFAS development team with annual donor recognition events, and Deans Circle events
- Identify award recipients for annual donor recognition events
- Select vendors and sites, menu selection, negotiate and prepare contracts in compliance with UF and Office of Development and Alumni Affairs regulations, determine staffing needs
- Assist with mailings, rsvps, nametags, on-site event registration, parking arrangements, etc.
- Assist with event set-up, break-down, and serving as a host
- Assist with pre- and post-event publicity and follow-up
- Schedule quarterly Deans Circle events, travel with the CALS Dean, and other Deans Circle related functions.
- Design and producing collateral or promotional materials that relate to events, including programs, pledge forms, signage, in compliance with Development Office and IRS policies and requirements
- Assist with College of Agricultural and Life Sciences giving societies.
- Develop strategies for increasing donor participation, retention and engagement in the CALS Dean’s Circle.
- Plan and execute events targeted towards current and potential Dean’s Circle members.
- Assist the Director of Corporate Relations with increasing corporate participation in the CALS Partnership Program.
- Coordinate the CALS Student Philanthropy Council.
Annual Giving
- Develop and implement a lead annual gift and mid-range donor gifting strategy. This strategy will include:
Administration
- Ensure best practices in office systems, files and record keeping; ensure effective use of strategic tools and resources such as contact reports, prospect management, research, and analysis, and the Advance database.
- Plan and monitor the budget, using resources for best results in fundraising and planning activities involving volunteers, prospects, faculty and administration.
Perform related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions related to this position.
Expected Salary:$45,000
Minimum Requirements:Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess:
