Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:

Teach nine hours of accounting per semester; maintain office hours, meet with students as appropriate; conduct research with publication in quality journals as the target; perform service to the University, college, and department as required by policy and as directed; maintain a collegial atmosphere within the college and department; participate in assigned committee activities and maintain active contact with professional organizations.


Sam Houston State University has over 20,000 students and is located in picturesque Huntsville, Texas, approximately 70 miles north of downtown Houston, with easy interstate highway access to Houston and Bush Intercontinental Airport. The College is AACSB accredited and has approximately 3,500 majors. The Department of Accounting has approximately 13 tenured/tenure-track faculty.

Educational Requirements for the Position:

Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting from an AACSB accredited University. ABDs in advanced stage of completion will be considered.

Experience Required for the Position:

University level teaching experience desirable; professional accounting experience highly desirable.

Other Requirements for the Position:

CPA licensure. Other professional certifications desirable.

Special Instructions Summary:

Initial interviews will be held at the AAA Rookie Camp, Miami Florida.
December 4th and 5th 2021.
Applicant must attend AAA Rookie Camp.
