Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:Teaching, research, and service. Standard teaching load is nine credit hours per semester. Other responsibilities include research in the field of mathematics, advising students, and service to the department, college and university.
Educational Requirements for the Position:Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics. Applicants from all areas of mathematics are encouraged to apply.
Experience Required for the Position:Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality teaching and be active in research. Candidates should have excellent communication skills.
Special Instructions Summary:Submit an AMS cover sheet, a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, research statement, and at least three letters of reference, at least two of which address the candidate’s research potential and at least one of which addresses the candidate’s teaching.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has 28 tenured or tenure-track faculty in mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics. The BA, BS, and MS degrees are offered in Mathematics. In addition, the MA degree is offered in Mathematics Education. The MS degree is offered in Statistics, along with Statistics minors at the undergraduate level. The department is actively involved in undergraduate research and developing innovative teaching methods that encourage students to be more actively engaged in the study of mathematics.
