- Assist with key recruitments for Division and Department Leadership positionsDevelop, implement, and manage departmental strategic plan that ensures consistent growth and success across all missionsResponsible for ensuring University of Colorado Hospital, School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, and Division goals are integrated and alignedUnderstand and react to departmental, organizational, and external business drivers, opportunities and threats
- Set priorities and key metrics to ensure aggressive growth goals across all departmental missions Develop strategic imperatives and tactical implements necessary to meet DOM vision and goals
- Strengthen current programs necessary to achieve the DOM vision and goals Create and implement, with departmental leaders new programs to achieve the DOM vision and goalsEnsure alignment between the units by meeting with the divisions regularly
- Represent the department with internal and external partners
- Responsible for developing strong relations with University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) partners
- Develop relationships that further the DOM vision and goals Work with the Divisions to understand their unique challenges and identify opportunities within their units
- Provide leadership in developing off-campus clinical programs
- Support the DOM Chair and Vice Chairs in all strategic initiatives
- Serve as trusted partner and confidant to DOM ChairServe as acting Chair of Medicine in the absence of the ChairManage the DOM Vice Chairs and provide oversight of their programsParticipate in annual Division reviews and set key success metrics for the divisions
- Integrate and balance the DOM’s missions across the department Assist the Chair and DFA in setting funding priorities and the best use of limited resources
- Ensure DOM vision and goals are met by Vice Chairs and Division Heads
- The expected FTE for this position is 50% funded by the Department of Medicine. The ideal candidate will be expected to be clinically active in their respective specialty or have additional activities in research within which they will spend the balance of their time.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years experience in a comparable Department of Medicine, Associate Professor or aboveProven experience in clinical care, operations, faculty and personnel management and research; preferably 5 years in each areaAt least 5 years of leadership experience at a divisional, hospital or department level.
