Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:· Experience using SQL to extract data for reporting and visualization.· Experience developing data visualizations or interactive dashboards· Problem-solving skills to effectively find solutions to complex tasks.· Organizational skills to effectively prioritize completion of multiple tasks in a timely fashion.· Motivated to take initiative and work with limited direct supervision.· Ability to work collaboratively with team members from diverse backgrounds. · Ability to effectively support clients in a professional manner. · Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:· Experience collecting and analyzing institutional data in a university environment.· Experience using Tableau or similar tools for data visualization.· Experience with Ellucian Banner or similar student information system. · Experience with institutional reporting at the state or federal level.· Experience with data governance or data literacy training.· Master’s degree or higher in a related field
Job Description:The Office of Institutional Research at Texas State University is seeking a qualified candidate to support our data analytics, management, and reporting efforts. This position is responsible for supporting institutional decision-making through data collection, management, analysis, and reporting. The primary focus of this position will be on assisting with the development and maintenance of institutional reports, dashboards, and other resources for clients on campus. You will be required to electronically attach a cover letter, resume, and list of three references when submitting your application. Job Duties:· Join data from multiples sources to support analysis and reporting.· Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using structured and unstructured data.· Consult with clients to determine reporting needs and develop appropriate solutions.· Communicate analyses and findings in meaningful ways to various audiences.· Build and maintain effective working relationships with other offices on campus.· Assist with data literacy training and data management efforts.· Collaborate with others on identifying and implementing solutions for complex tasks.· Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information to Applicants:This position is in-person with up to 30 days of remote work allowed per year.
