POSITION TITLE:COVID OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST
STATUS: Temporary, Full Time Grant Funded (through June 2022 or
until position is modified or otherwise ends due to grant
funding) – Hours vary between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm; M-F.
Some Saturday hours may be required based on need.
Location: Main Campus, Romeoville and City Center.

MINIMUM PAY RATE:$20.10 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The position will support the College’s on-campus operations with responsibilities related to employees and students on campus, including temperature monitoring, asking COVID related questions, promoting social distancing - 6 feet apart in lines, assisting with saliva-based testing program operations and performing contact tracing duties or other employee/student related communication. This position will assist the EH&S Manager with database management/security, plan development; site safety surveys of multiple campuses; safety equipment upkeep, inventory, and research; attending various meetings; interaction with faculty, staff, and students; computer work, spreadsheets, and data processing.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Saliva Based Shield COVID Testing Responsibilities and Contact Tracing

Assist with the saliva-based testing program logistics and operations. Perform outreach and contact tracing activities as assigned.

Environmental Health and Safety Responsibilities

Inventory and organize safety equipment including, hazardous materials equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) and air monitoring equipment. Assist in input of purchase order requisitions on for department purchases. Prepares bi-weekly purchasing card reports (collects invoices, runs reports, obtains signatures) for EHS employees with purchasing cards. Work closely with College Sector Leaders in training and equipment distribution. Keep accurate computer records in the areas of Sector Leaders, IDOL training, NIMS, OSHA. Attend monthly EH&S Committee meeting, take notes and distribute summary. Arrange meetings with internal partners, external partners and advisory board members to coordinate safety activities as needed. Willing to attend additional training and certifications, courses, seminars and safety conferences to increase knowledge in required disciplines.

Greeting Responsibilities

Greet people as they arrive on campus. Provide general directions to campus services. Provide general instructions about the screening stations. Ask people if they are experiencing COVID related symptoms. Serve as an attendant at thermal monitor stations or utilize remote hand-held thermometer; follow basic protocol for temperature screening for all parties entering the campus; inform any person whose temperature reading is above the allowable threshold to return home and provide them with further instructions. Monitor areas for social distancing and for mask compliance.

Compliance Reporting

Providing notification of non-compliance as it relates to Executive Order 2021-20 (Vaccine Mandate and Testing Compliance). Audit COVID vaccination and testing uploads for data integrity and compliance with mandate. Collaborate with Student Affairs and Human Resources for timely preparation of reporting and corrective action letters to non-compliant students and employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent Ability to manage conflict with emotional resilience and emotional intelligence. Experience providing service to diverse populations. Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Teams, spreadsheet, etc.) Use computers, audio visual equipment and sound meters and devices. Availability to work on-campus (not remotely) Strong verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimum supervision Personal cell phone for communication Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Normal office physical demands. Flexibility to be assigned to campus locations based on operational needs. Some travel between campus locations Must be able to occasionally climb some ladders and stairs, and occasionally enter substations or small areas. Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds. Ability to work with small tools and equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are performed in usual office settings and indoor environments. Duties may be performed in various environmental temperatures and conditions depending on seasonal climate.
