Departmental Objective:To secure gift support for the University through the cultivation and solicitation of its alumni, friends and other constituents to address current institutional priorities and provide support for the future through endowment.
Purpose of the Position:This position will support the operational needs and programs of the University Advancement office. It reports to and receives primary planning and strategic oversight from the Assistant Director, Advancement Services. It provides significant support to the gift processing, and database management efforts of the Advancement Services team. It also collaborates with other administrative staff to support the overall efforts of the department and assists in sustaining the data integrity of alumni, donor and constituent records by updating records and conducting research when necessary. This position processes gifts and pledge payments in the Banner Advancement System as needed. Duties also include verifying contact information, assisting in the tracking and recording of mailings, invitations and attendance records, and completing special data entry and research projects as assigned.

Ability to develop and maintain detailed and accurate records
Skilled in using the internet as a research tool
Strong interpersonal verbal and writing skills
Skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheets and database systems
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multi-task in an environment with competing deadlines
Ability to develop written reports communicating findings
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and to support several staff
Knowledge of office protocol and ability to keep information confidential
Preferred:
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Required: Experience working in a college/university Advancement office.
Experience entering/updating data in fundraising/alumni databases.
Education Preferred: Some coursework towards Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Experience Preferred: Experience in using Banner. Experience entering gifts into an Advancement database. Experience researching donor information/giving history.
