Minimum Qualifications:

Terminal degree required. Additional professional licensure and/or certification in the field may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Either admission to the Georgia Bar or the ability to gain admission to the Georgia Bar with 6 months of starting the position. (Preferred)

Position Summary:

This position supports the mission of the Veterans Legal Clinic as determined by the clinic Director, including representation of veterans and their dependents, supervision of students doing clinic work, and outreach to and education for veterans in Georgia. The Fellow position is a one year appointment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

0-3 years experience. Experience providing services to veterans and veterans families; demonstrated skill in representing clients, especially in administrative proceedings; experience supervising students in a clinical setting; experience in law practice settings, especially public interest practices; and experience with outreach and community education.

Represent veterans and their dependents on legal and administrative claims, as determined by the Director, including appearances in federal and state judicial and administrative proceedings.
