Nature of Work

iC42 Clinical Research & Development is a cutting-edge bioanalytical resource and Service Center at the University of Colorado as well as a CU Medicine site of clinical practice. iC42 Clinical Research and Development combines quantitative mass spectrometry (drugs, drug metabolites, endogenous compounds and large molecules), metabolomics (LC-MS, GC-MS and magnetic resonance spectroscopy-based) and proteomics under one roof, which makes it a unique facility. Moreover, iC42 Clinical Research and Development serves as a central laboratory for national multi-center trials and coordinates and carries out clinical studies. The laboratory is compliant with the rules of good laboratory practice (cGLP, 21 CFR part 58), and it is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and CLIA certified.

    Analysis of clinical samplesSample receipt, management and documentationReference material receipt and handlingProficiency testingData managementQuality controlWorking in and maintaining a GLP and CAP-compliant environmentEnsuring compliance with all DEA regulations and documentation rulesInstrument and laboratory maintenanceLaboratory logistics and restockingData analysis and result reporting
Research

  • sample preparation for proteomics, metabolomics and pharmacokinetic analyses
  • analytics (HPLC, LC/mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy)
  • HPLC and LC-MS assay development and validation
  • sample receipt and management
  • reference material receipt and handling
  • data management
  • contribution to reports and publications
Study design, study management, scientific input

  • contributes to the improvement of clinical laboratory processes
  • contributes to standard operating procedures and clinical toxicology laboratory policies
Training and teaching

  • on the job training of new PRAs and training of back up personnel for the toxicology laboratory
Supervision Received

The successful candidate (Senior PRA) will report to iC42 Clinical Research and Development’s Laboratory/ Medical Director

Supervision Exercised

The successful candidate will independently run research projects and will have mentoring, training, and oversight responsibilities for interns, students and junior employees working on said projects.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at $37,000 - $40,048

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications  

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Education: B.S. degree or equivalent in biology/ microbiology/ chemistry/ biochemistry or a related field
Preferred Qualifications

    Demonstrated skills and experience in a laboratory environment
  • Experience: At least one (1) years of experience in a bioanalytical mass spectrometry laborator
