Introduction

Pediatric/Rehabilitation Psychologist. The Pediatric Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology Program in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time pediatric/rehabilitation psychologist. The position carries an academic appointment with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. The site of practice is Children’s Hospital Colorado, which is the premier pediatric hospital in the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S. and has been ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation for more than a decade. https://www.childrenscolorado.org/

 

Responsibilities

The position will focus on providing evidence-based outpatient psychosocial assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents, and families adjusting to acute or chronic injury or illness. Common patient conditions include pediatric traumatic/acquired brain injury (concussion, moderate-severe TBI, anoxia, encephalitis, etc.), spina bifida, cerebral palsy, functional neurologic disorders, spinal cord injury/disease, and a variety of other medical conditions related to rehabilitation. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with pediatric psychology, pain, functional disorders, and/or young children. Preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish. Duties will include working with multidisciplinary teams in developing treatment plans and promoting positive rehabilitation outcomes, individual and family behavioral health treatment, behavior management, and coordination with allied health providers.

Clinical service will be provided through the Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology Program, which includes 10 pediatric psychologists and neuropsychologists. The position is primarily clinical in nature, though research or other scholarly activity is expected. Multiple opportunities for such activity exist through the Department, and preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated research or scholarly productivity. The position will involve supervision and training of graduate-level psychology externs and predoctoral interns and other occasional teaching (e.g., of medical trainees).

Salary and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:

Instructor: $90,000 - $105,000

 Assistant Professor: $90,000 - $105,000

Associate Professor: $113,000 - $130,000

Professor: $162,000 - $200,000

Clinical Instructor: $90,000 - $105,000

Clinical Assistant Professor: $90,000 - $105,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $113,000 - $130,000

Clinical Professor: $162,000 - $200,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is open to candidates at all levels of experience.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
