The SERVE Center is a university-based research, development, dissemination, evaluation, and technical assistance center. Through customized research and evaluation services, SERVE delivers actionable insights for both policymakers and practitioners. From large-scale experimental studies to small-scale qualitative work on topics ranging from early childhood to high school reform, SERVE builds the capacity of educators and policymakers to improve educational outcomes for students of all ages. The SERVE Center houses the National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE), the U.S. Department of Education’s technical assistance center for the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program. NCHE provides technical assistance to State Coordinators for homeless education, local homeless education liaisons, other educators, service providers, and other interested stakeholders on understanding and implementing policies related to the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness, and connecting these children and youth to needed supports in the community. Position Summary:
The primary tasks of NCHE are to develop and disseminate materials on effective strategies, provide information and referrals upon request, and facilitate networking among educators, administrators, and service providers to ensure that children and youth experiencing homelessness can access educational opportunities and be successful in school. This position will be responsible for providing training and technical assistance to educational stakeholders, service providers and other community stakeholders regarding the implementation of the McKinney-Vento Act and other federal statutes related to the education and well-being of children, youth, and families experiencing homelessness. Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in education, social work or related field or a bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years experience. Must have proven experience in applying or providing technical assistance or information on the McKinney-Vento Act or equivalent experience with other federal laws related to the education of children in poverty. Research, documentation, and reportingEssential Tasks:
Research and develop/write reports, briefs, documents, and awareness materials appropriate for a wide range of audiences. Oversee input of information into databases and assist with developing various reports as needed. Identify and assist states with data collection challenges; advise stakeholders in understanding and using data to identify and implement pragmatic practices to improve student outcomes; facilitate collaboration between state coordinators, EDFacts coordinators, and Consolidated State Performance Report (CSPR) coordinators; provide NCHE team members with relevant data and graphics for use during training sessions; develop data collection guides and reports for program development; lead advisory group discussions and meetings to inform product and project development; represent SERVE and constituents in meetings with U.S. Department of Education (ED) related to data collection and analysis.Percentage Of Time:

Develop conferences and meetings to support interactive and engaging workshops and presentations for national, state, and local audiences. Conduct on-site and online training (webinars), lead planning teams and oversee their tasks, develop conference materials, conduct conferences and meetings, provide follow-up with participants to ensure compliance with the grant deliverables.Percentage Of Time:
