The Biology Department at The University of the South seeks a molecular biologist for two years at one of the nation's top liberal arts institutions.
We are interested in candidates with training in molecular biology, broadly defined, and who would be able to teach a variety of molecular biology courses, such as introductory molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry and/or upper-level courses. This position has a 3/3 teaching load with both lecture and lab sections counting toward that total.The Biology Department is also seeking applications for an Ecologist (3 years) and a Neuroscientist (1 year).
Attributes of a Successful Candidate
Candidates should be enthusiastic about teaching small interactive classes at a liberal arts college. The successful candidates may also have the opportunity to develop a research program that provides opportunities for undergraduate involvement.

In particular, we are curious about the candidate's ideas for leveraging educational best practices to engage students. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate a clear understanding of their strengths and potential for development as an educator. Research Statement Guidelines (no more than 3 pages)We are looking for applicants who have a clear sense of how they will conduct their research program at a small liberal arts institution, or incorporate aspects of their research in the classroom and/or teaching lab setting. Applicants are encouraged to frame their scholarship for a broad audience, as a clear articulation of research topic and scope can also communicate an applicant's ability to communicate complex ideas.
