Organizational Unit Overview:

The Department of Construction Management is under the College of Engineering and Technology which is comprised of the Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, and Technology Systems. Faculty and staff in the College provide high-quality graduate and undergraduate degree opportunities and research and service programs that enable students to achieve their career goals and that promote a strong, sustainable future for our region.

Job Duties :

The Department of Construction Management at East Carolina University (ECU) invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor position, with an expected start date of August 16, 2022. This potion is an academic year (9-month) appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core construction management, undergraduate and graduate courses with focuses on Surveying, Materials, BIM, Cost Control, Equipment Management, Construction Economics, and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Systems in face-to-face and distance learning environments. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research and seek external funding and provide service to the department, university, and profession; participate in Department, College and University services, program assessment and strategic planning, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, supervise student organizations, and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Minimum Education and Experience include PhD in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.

All degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

None

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

Preferably, the candidate has three or more years of managerial experience in the US industry, evidence of successful teaching in construction management at the college/university level, demonstrated ability to secure external funding, grants, and/or industry support, a demonstrated potential to develop and sustain an active research agenda.
