Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)
Salary: Commensurate with experience
The Financial Operations Associate will be responsible for financial, accounting and administrative duties in the Athletics Department. Accounting, internal control systems, best business practices and administrative experience are required.
Duties include processing travel, purchasing and revenue transactions. Other responsibilities include financial, accounting and administrative duties within the Financial Operations unit in the Intercollegiate Athletics department.
Additional responsibilities include transaction processes, reconciliations, computerized business systems, financial reporting, continuous development and streamlining of business processes, development and compliance of internal control policies, procedures and best business practices and other related administrative responsibilities. All responsibilities require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities require the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment with a high volume of transactions, the ability to communicate well and document policies and procedures in a clear, logical manner internally and externally and the ability to supervise students.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excel and Microsoft systems knowledge and skill
- Candidate must also be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, be able to document policies and procedures logically and clearly, and be able to interact with a diverse group of users
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
- Experience in a fast-paced business environment that includes knowledge and experience in business transaction processes, reconciliations, best business practices, internal control policies and procedures, and business systems
- Knowledge and experience in SUNY business practices, regulations and compliance related to higher education, government entities and NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics
