The Admissions Manager recruits applicants and evaluates applications for admission from all programs at the School of General Studies including the undergraduate degree program, the Postbacc Premed certificate program, and the International Dual BA and Joint Degree Programs.
Admissions: The Admissions Manager is a member of the Admission Committee for the undergraduate degree program, the Postbac Premed program and the Dual BA and Joint Degree programs at the School of General Studies. They review applications for all degree programs and make initial recommendations for admissions to the committee. They are responsible for entering their reviews and admissions committee decisions into the University’s CRM (Slate). The Admissions Manager is responsible for presenting on campus information sessions and meeting with prospective students and applicants as needed including to conduct interviews and follow-up. (55%)
Recruitment: Conducts recruitment events off campus such as regional information sessions and community college transfer fairs. The Admissions Manager will be the primary recruiter for events in East Asia, requiring travel abroad. Utilizes Slate to analyze recruitment activity, track progress and to consider adjustments for recruitment planning. Nights and weekends may be required for some recruitment events. (30%)
Entrance Credit Report Analysis and Transfer Credit Processing: Is responsible for creating and modifying the Entrance Credit Reports. Evaluates and records transfer credits and works with the senior admissions staff to evaluate credentials of international students. (15%)
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or the equivalent required; at least two years related experience in admissions or higher education or equivalent required; excellent interpersonal skills required; experience with MS Office, student information systems and other computer systems at the University highly desirable. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and travel seasonally.
