As the chief diversity officer in the College of Medicine, the Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will work closely with CMU's Associate Vice President for Institutional Diversity in concert with leadership at CMU Partner's and our primary affiliated teaching hospitals in shaping and leading the College of Medicine (CMED) to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion as fundamental to CMED's excellence. The Director is charged with advancing the breadth of diversity, equity, & inclusion efforts in partnership with colleague in student affairs, admissions, human resources, and faculty & staff affairs at the medical school.Bachelor's Degree preferably in Education, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Academic Administration, or related field.
Five years of experience working directly in diversity, equity, and inclusion in education or related field.
Demonstrated experience in building and advancing institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for faculty, students, and staff.
Evidence of nuanced, broad, and sophisticated understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
Exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills.
xcellent human relations skills and proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
