More specifically, this position will work closely with other all Information Services teams, internal and external customers, and management to provide design, support, operations and business continuity for the college’s on premises enterprise and Microsoft Azure Cloud environments. This position will have primary responsibility for the following technologies: Microsoft Azure Cloud computing environment, M365, ESX/VMWare, Active Directory, SharePoint Portal, SAN and Backup systems.
This position is 90 to 100 percent remote work.
Within the Microsoft Azure Cloud computing environment, the position will demonstrate advanced understanding of Virtural Servers, Networking, Databases, Software, Security, Storage, Monitoring and Backup. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate experience in using products such as PowerShell and Microsoft Azure Cloud Shell.
This position will serve as technology Subject Matter expert with both traditional on premise data center computing as well as Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing

Job Duties and Responsibilities:What you will do in this role
Lead efforts to develop and implement comprehensive Microsoft Azure Cloud and on premises based (virtual and physical) servers, storage, backup, load balancers, application gateways and monitoring system designs that meet business requirements by utilizing technology in a cost effective and scalable manner. Responsibilities include the design, configuration, test administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of afore mentioned to achieve highly available systems in support of critical business functions.
Leads efforts to define and execute ongoing network security, health maintenance plans, processes, procedures, documentation, and operations for the enterprise server, application, and storage infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and guidelines. Establish network security monitoring and controls to ensure security practices are being followed by performing detailed technical reviews of physical networks and documentation.
Provide guidance and assistance to the Information Services team in the implementation and administration of system monitoring tools. Monitor performance and tuning of key technology components for the college's data center infrastructure; recommend changes or enhancements to resolve stability and performance issues based on findings. Maintain statistics on system performance and availability
Plan and execute changes which impact the network infrastructure following established change management processes. Ensure planned testing activities are developed, documented, and executed.
Develop and maintain document repositories and architectural diagrams related to the installation, administration, maintenance, and use of systems.
Work with customers and IS team members to research, recommend, and implement hardware and OS configuration required to support approved projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications:What you will bring to this position
Bachelor's degree or higher
Minimum of five years of relevant experience
Demonstrated advanced knowledge in the following technologies: Microsoft Azure Cloud and on premises computing to include related storage, backup and networking components. Additionally, demonstrate advanced knowledge with VMWare ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, M365, and Microsoft server.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with the ability to interface with all levels of staff.
Demonstrated experience with change management processes to effectively communicate changes, develop testing and remediation plans to minimize side effects of hardware and software changes.
Maintains in-depth knowledge and current certifications in technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft and VMWare related technologies.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including off-hour support in emergencies and support for scheduled downtime. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:

Understand required networking tasks such as deploying and configuring virtual networks, orchestrating routing paths, especially in a Hybrid Cloud and managing public and private IP addresses for VM's and selected Azure resources.
Have an advanced working knowledge in both Azure Virtual Desktop and Virtual Labs environments.
Recommend and create specifications for SAN, server hardware, software and maintenance contracts. Request quotes or work with purchasing for procurement.
