Responsibilities The Institutional Assessment Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting, enhancing and promoting institution-wide assessment and improvement of student learning and program effectiveness. They will collaborate with the Director of Institutional Performance and Assessment, the Office of Liberal Studies and other university leaders to ensure compliance with the requirements of various federal, regional and state higher education stakeholders.

Working collaboratively within and across university departments, the Assessment Analyst provides assessment-related support to the campus community. This includes but is not limited to: assisting in the development of student learning and non-academic outcomes; identifying and communicating appropriate assessment approaches and assignments; soliciting and assuring submission of outcomes information and data; managing data collection, analysis and reporting; reviewing and providing feedback on submissions for all reporting entities to assure consistent and valid responses.

Assists in design and implementation of technology-facilitated approaches to advancing and documenting university assessment efforts. This includes but is not limited to: supporting faculty and staff in utilizing the Institutional Effectiveness Portal, outcomes assessment via the university learning management system, the General Education curriculum assessment; providing assistance and feedback regarding consistency and accuracy of information submitted in these reporting platforms; retrieving data from university databases, compiling and preparing reports and visualizations for external audiences.

Participates in development of educational materials and in-person trainings for academic and non-academic departments in support of compliance reporting and furthering of data-based and analytics-rich campus culture.

Assists the director and other leadership personnel in coordinating the work of, and providing logistical support for, various existing and future assessment-related committees and groups (such as the Liberal Studies Coordinating and Policy Committee, Academic Institutional Effectiveness Assessment Advisory Group, FSU Strategic Plan Implementation Steering Committee, the Liberal Studies Student Advisory Group).

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences or related field and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience. (Note: higher education may substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.)

Training and/or experience in instructional design, curriculum and program evaluation, and/or research methods.

Experience in data preparation and management, preparing and presenting reports for public consumption, strong written and oral communication skills.
