Description:
The Mathematics Department at Tulane University invites applications for a Professor of Practice (PoP) in Statistics to begin in Fall 2023. The PoP is a non-tenured full time academic year (nine month) teaching position with a renewable 3-year appointment. It carries a teaching load of three courses per semester, and has a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications. Faculty promoted to Senior PoP serve renewable 5-year terms.
The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) coordinate and teach a variety of introductory Probability and Statistics courses; (2) advice undergraduate and graduate students who are taking or teaching these courses; and (3) perform some level of faculty services.
The Mathematics Department faculty at Tulane University consists of 22 tenured/tenure-track faculty members whose interests span a broad range of fields in core and applied mathematics as well as statistics, and 4 Professors of Practice. Please visit us at https://sse.tulane.edu/math.

Qualifications:
A PhD degree in Mathematics or Statistics is required.
