Position Summary
Dominican is seeking an experienced individual to serve as course instructor for a 1 unit graduate course titled OT 5227: Occupational Therapy Treatment for Pediatric Feeding Difficulties


Responsibilities
  • Teach one unit course at graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Perform other course related duties as assigned

  • OT 5227: Occupational Therapy Treatment for Pediatric Feeding Difficulties

  • Course Description: A primary area of practice for occupational therapists is supporting safe and appropriate oral feeding for children and addressing feeding difficulties. This course will focus on basic swallowing physiology, typical development of oral feeding skills, and strategies to improve oral feeding success for infant and pediatric clients. Students will have the opportunity to use information learned in this course, for several interactive case studies, to better solidify learning.

    Required Qualifications
  • Occupational Therapist registered and licensed in California
  • Master’s degree or higher
  • Documented advanced training and experience in occupational therapy for pediatric feeding difficulties.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in pediatric feeding with neonates, infants and children
  • Higher education teaching experience
  • Proficient or able to learn in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Moodle (online classroom management tool) & Zoom

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree
  • Advance Practice Certificate for Feeding & Swallowing assessment, evaluation, or intervention from the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
