Job Description Summary:This position involves instructing one course, ED 321 Educating Exceptional Students. Applicants should have a strong background in special education with an awareness of current issues in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:- adapting syllabus
- preparing classes from a syllabus
- modeling a variety of instructional strategies
- providing current updates in Special Education
- administering and interpreting assessments -providing feedback to students
- recording and submitting grades
- coordinating with the faculty of the Teacher Education program, as needed
- Effectively communicate with students and other faculty
- Mastery of appropriate computer operation skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education and at least five years of teaching special education students required
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field preferred
- Special Education Certification preferred
- Exhibit emotional control and stability
- Ascend and descend steps, inclines
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to twenty pounds
- Sit or stand for extended periods to time
- Bend, kneel, reach
- Operate a copier, printer, television, and projector
