Job Description Summary:Position Responsibilities:
- Create learning activities that highlight the process-oriented pedagogical approach powered by M2Studio
- Validate and refine principles for designing learning environments that cultivate math modeling competencies
- Analyze student data generated from interaction with M2Studio software
- Organize M2Studio professional development workshops
- Mentor junior researchers
- Teach (and/or co-teach) courses within the mathematics department (e.g., MA200 Introduction to Math Modeling & Software)
- Broadly disseminate project products and results
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics or closely related field The applicant must also have
- 2+ years teaching undergraduate mathematics or equivalent
- Experience working with 7 – 12 grade students and/or teachers in an educational setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research methods for STEM education settings, especially in the context of mathematical modeling and technology-enhanced learning environments
- Experience working with large data sets
- Background in publishing and presenting academic research
- Experience with Education Software products such as CODAP and Sage Modeler
