Job Details
The Department of Macromolecular Science & Engineering at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is soliciting applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning in the 2022-23 academic year at the rank of assistant professor.
All areas of experimental and theoretical/computational polymer science & engineering will be considered, but candidates working in areas of sustainability and the environment, structure-property relationships, mechanics, polymer engineering and physics are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates should be committed to working with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students.
Applications should include a cover letter, full CV, concise statements of research (4 pages), teaching interests (1 page), diversity and inclusion (1 page) and a list of at least three individuals who can be contacted for letters of recommendation.
The diversity statement should explain how one’s research, teaching, and/or service contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion within a scholarly field(s) and/or how individual and/or collaborative efforts promote diversity, equity and inclusion inside and outside institutions of higher learning.

The Department of Macromolecular Science & Engineering (polymers.case.edu), founded 58 years ago, is the home for 9 faculty, and over 120 B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. students, operating in a research intensive and highly collegial team. CWRU is located in the culturally diversified University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland Ohio, home of internationally famous music, art and historical institutions, as well as a lively restaurant scene.
