Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and recruiting potential applicants for admission as traditional first-time freshmen, transfers, former students, and nontraditional adults; collecting and evaluating credentials; making decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission to UNCG; positively affecting admitted student decisions to matriculate to the University. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions serves as a major public relations arm of the institution and helps to shape a positive image of the University through its interaction with parents, prospective students, high school and college counselors, alumni, and other external agencies. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions communicates to the public the academic, programmatic, and developmental offerings that UNCG provides for its students. Through its activities, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the University’s enrollment goals as they pertain to new traditional and nontraditional undergraduates.
Position Summary:This position serves as the primary leader of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, driving the office to serve the Strategic Plan priorities and achieve the academic and enrollment goals of the institution. The Director of Admissions will coordinate all office activities to ensure the annual enrollment goals are achieved. The Director will have oversight of all personnel in the Undergraduate Admissions office and direct the marketing and recruitment plans to meet or exceed enrollment targets. This role will serve as a primary spokesperson for the university with prospective students and families as well as with a broad range of external audiences. The Director is responsible for the management of application processing and implementation of University policies and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:Specialized Knowledge, Education, and Experience Required:
- Master’s degree.
- Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years experience with progressively increasing responsibilities in an Admissions Office.
- Experience supervising and developing a strong professional staff.
- Experience working with integrated student information systems and driving optimal utilization of Customer Relationship Management technology.
- Excellent interpersonal communications and organizational skills; demonstrated ability in public speaking; ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Proven ability as an inspirational leader and model for professional conduct; success building departmental teamwork and a positive, collaborative environment.
- Experience working with diverse populations and placing high value on equity and inclusion.
- Banner experience is preferred.

Key Responsibility:Build and Execute Recruitment Strategy and Tactics
Essential Tasks:- Coordinating, developing, and implementing University recruitment strategy in collaboration with Enrollment Management leadership. Student recruitment activities include but are not limited to high schools and community college visits and partnership development, community partners, and civic organizations; planning large-scale recruitment events, both on campus and off campus.
- Implementing and monitoring systems and ensuring that established undergraduate admissions policies and procedures are followed and are working as planned.
- Monitoring admissions funnel data and trends via statistical reports and developing follow-up strategies designed to increase outcomes at each funnel level.
- Initiating the development and review of Undergraduate Admissions materials such as written and electronic correspondences, undergraduate admissions applications, undergraduate admissions publications, website content, videos, and social media campaigns.
- Working closely with community college partners on transfer initiatives, co-admissions opportunities, data-sharing, and joint recruitment engagements.
- Developing annual projections and detailed strategy and tactics plans to support the achievement of goals.

Essential Tasks:- Monitoring applications for undergraduate admission to the University to ensure that minimum admissions requirements are met by all admits.
- Leading systems and protocols within the department to ensure that all admissions personnel are complying with all UNCG policies and procedures.
- Screening all applicants for campus safety concerns.
- Consistently identifying data trends or discrepancies to audit admissions processes and outcomes, ensure data quality, and ensure proper student experience and communication stemming from said data.

Essential Tasks:- Overseeing Undergraduate Admissions Office operations including applications processing and communications.
- Guiding a customer service model to provide flexible, responsive, and high-quality customer service to all clients: students, community, faculty, and staff; monitor inbound communication (email, phone, chat, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate responses across admissions staff.
- Assessing and revising processes and procedures to comply with university, state, and federal requirements, and national standards for admissions and recruitment operations.
- Leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, improve the student experience, and utilize data-driven practices to find service solutions.
