This is a Student-Hourly Position - Only UMB/USM Students Apply

The University of MD, Baltimore's department of Pharmacy Practice & Science has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Student (Pharmacy Technician) for their Mental Health Program at the Spring Grove Hospital Center located in Catonsville, MD. The School of Pharmacy operates the Department of Pharmacy Services at Spring Grove Hospital Center under an interagency agreement with the Maryland Department of Health (MDH). 

This pharmacy technician position is a part-time student position - working mostly Saturdays.

COMPENSATION: $15 per hour / 15 hours per week

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

    Medication cart fill Unit-dose Prepacking Order entry (if time permits) Delivering medications to nursing units* Assist Director and Assistant Directors with formulary distribution, reports, and monitors when in available in summer and winter. Other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  Currently enrolled at a USM/UMB institution.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of equivalent pharmacy experience requiring a familiarity of generic and trade names of pharmaceutical products.

CERTIFICATION:  Employees in this job class must be a certified technician and registered with the Maryland Board of Pharmacists.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job. Candidates will be required to have a criminal background check.  Employees in this job class may be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Overtime, weekend, on-call and shift work may be required in some positions.
