Advanced Placement (AP) Reader

Last June, over 22,000 high school teachers and college faculty members served as Advanced Placement® (AP) Readers, scoring over 4.5 million AP exams during the annual AP Reading. The AP Program would like to invite you to join the pool of eligible AP Readers as we prepare for the 2022 Reading.

If you are not an AP Reader, apply to become one today. You may be eligible to join the Reading pool if you have taught your AP subject for 2 years or more.* Once you apply and are accepted into the Reader pool, you will be eligible to receive an invitation to future Readings, including in 2022.**

Apply to become an AP Reader

2021 AP Reader survey data showed:

  • 95% of Readers that participated had a positive experience
  • 86% of Readers who have participated in more than one
  • Reading said that they had made changes to their own teaching or scoring as a result of their experience

Opportunities exist to score student responses at a Reading site, as well as from home for most subjects. While we accept applications from AP teachers for all subjects, professionals with expertise in the following subjects are needed the most to expand the AP Reader pool.
