Level: Non-Credit Lecturer
Hours: Courses run at various times- day, evening, weekdays and Saturday.
Closing Date: Continuous open recruitment. Positions will be filled on an as-needed basis, depending on course offerings, enrollment and specific department needs. These positions do not go through a search committee. You will only be contacted if there is an open position. Applications will remain active for 1 year.

Position Summary:

CSCU is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time teaching positions in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development within the non-credit division at the College. The Non-Credit Lecturer must meet all teaching expectations, as outlined by the Director of Workforce Development..

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

  • Blueprint Reading-Current need at Quinebaug Valley CC
  • CNC
  • Intro to Manufacturing/Intro to Machining-Current need at Manchester CC
  • Welding
  • Pipefitting
  • Ship fitting
  • Shop Math-Current need at Quinebaug Valley CC
  • Outside Machinist
  • Plumbing-Naugatuck Valley CC Only

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree and/or Industry Experience or Industry Recognized Credential.
  • One (1) or more years' teaching experience including using online teaching platforms including but not limited to Blackboard, WebEx and Microsoft Teams.
  • Related work experience.

Plumber Qualifications:

  • You must be a P1 Plumber
  • Ability to present to a large group.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop curriculum for the program within the parameters dictated by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.

Welding Qualifications:

  • Five years work experience in the field of welding.
  • Teacher or group training experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior community college teaching experience.
  • Practical experience in the related Workforce Education industry for which you are applying.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the industry trends and workforce needs.
Salary: Commensurate with specific course, location & demand.
