IT Software Analyst III


The University of Tennessee, Office of Information Technology Applications Group is seeking applicants for the position of Software Analyst III. Market Range 13.


The Software Analyst III leads the technical design, modification, development, testing, and documentation related to the University operations in the use of Ellucian Banner (ERP) for higher education. This position will report to the OIT Manager, Student Information Systems.


Duties and Responsibilities

     Implement, upgrade and support the University's enterprise resource planning (Banner)   
     application and other interfaces to Banner for the campus community Design, analyze, develop, implement and maintain enhancements to the University's  enterprise computer applications Provide training and assistance to users in the use of enterprise applications and custom developed solutions
    Performs analysis and problem solving for mission critical systemsDevelop and maintain documentationCommunicates with cross departmental and campus units regarding developed solutionsPerforms moderate-to-advanced level problem analysis on software applicationsSupports medium to large sized systems with a moderate amount of independence
Researches, trains, and leads new technology initiatives as requested

Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience3 years of programming experience
Desired Qualifications:

    Familiarity with Ellucian Banner ERP System Experience with JavaExperience with Eclipse/MavenFamiliarity with MVC programming methodologyExperience in higher-education environmentMust be well spoken, creative, and energetic and work well in a team environmentAble to work independently with minimal technical supervision
