We invite applications for two full-time, non-tenure track Teaching Series faculty positions for the 2022-2023 academic year beginning  September 1, 2022. One position is for a Teaching Assistant Professor. The other position is open rank (Teaching Associate Professor or Teaching Professor appointments may be possible for well-qualified applicants).

Teaching Assistant Professor appointments are initially one-year contracts renewable annually for three years. Following a successful formal performance review, the subsequent contract is for three years. During the sixth year, a faculty member can apply for promotion to Teaching Associate Professor and be awarded a 5-year contract. Teaching Professor contracts are 7 years in length.

Position Summary 

The hired individuals will be responsible for teaching introductory, higher-level undergraduate, and possibly graduate level computer science courses. Duties include teaching six courses per year in a quarter-based system, advising students, participating in department activities, participating in equity, diversity, and inclusivity efforts, and performing departmental and university service. These positions do not require research.  The successful applicant will have a passion for teaching and a demonstrated ability to teach Computer Science courses.

Required Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science or a related discipline (by the time of appointment).
  • Evidence demonstrating potential for excellence in teaching.
  • Interest in integrating DEI into teaching and service

Salary Grade:

The salary grade for the position is UC.

Salary Range:

The salary range for the FT Teaching Professor= $86K-$95K, Associate TP = $79K-$85K, Assistant TP = $75K-$78K.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
