Description of Position

Hiring rate: $16.00/hour

Under the direction of the department chair, the Visual Arts General Technician will work with the Visual Art Department to build community engagement and work on expanding the educational offerings within the Visual Art Department. The general technician will also collaborate with the Performing Art Center and Art galleries to integrate a districtwide social media marketing plan.

This position will be based at the Prescott campus but may work at the Verde campus when needed. This is a casual part-time position averaging 19 hours per week. Hours worked may include nights and weekends Primary responsibilities:

• Work with the Performing Art Center to integrate a districtwide Art Department social media marketing plan
• Work on graphic and web design projects for the Art Department
• Become familiar with Art Gallery exhibition and Performing Arts Center event schedules
• Assist with exhibition installation and maintenance of the Art Galleries
• Schedule campus visits with community groups.
• Communicate with the Visual Art Department teaching team
• Assess the needs of the Visual Art Department and help the team be successful.
• Work on the creation of new certificates or program changes within the Art Department
• Work with visiting artists to establish workshops and artist talks
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Expectations & Requirements

Associates in an art related field
1 year working in the art field
1 year experience using social media as a marketing tool and/or knowledge of Adobe Suite
